To preserve the Vermeule property as a historic place, share its history and the history of the Vermeule family, and promote local history and the arts.
The property is listed on State and Federal Register of Historic Places

Brief history
The Friends of Vermeule Mansion was formed in 1997 to preserve, protect, promote and restore the mansion.

In 2003 the mansion became a NJ Historic Building and in 2004 became nationally registered and was placed on the National Register as a Historic Site. In 2006, the FOVM became the official managers of the mansion.

The Mansion is very involved offering community activities:
  • Music at the Mansion Concert Series
  • Educational Events
  • Weekend Journey Through the Past History Weekend
  • School related History Programs
  • History Scholarship for a HS senior
  • community and private organization events
